Frequently Asked Questions

Your first session is a gentle introduction — a chance for us to talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, your goals, and what feels most important for you right now. We’ll explore your history at a pace that feels safe and comfortable, and I’ll explain how therapy works so you know exactly what to expect.

If you’re feeling anxious, stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or burdened by past experiences, therapy can help you find clarity, healing, and relief. You don’t need to have it all figured out — we’ll uncover what you need together, at your own pace.

I work with adults, teens, and couples across Ontario navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, relationship challenges, childhood wounds, and cultural or identity-based stress. My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and culturally aware — blending IFS, DBT, CBT, and mindfulness-based therapy.

All sessions are offered online through a secure and confidential video platform, allowing you to access therapy from anywhere in Ontario in a private, comfortable space of your choosing.

Sessions are typically 50 minutes, once per week or biweekly, depending on your needs and goals. We’ll collaborate to find a rhythm that feels supportive but not overwhelming.

Yes. I offer a free 15-minute consultation to help you get a feel for my approach and ask any questions before deciding if we’re a good fit.

Session fees are $175 for a 50-minute session and are payable by e-transfer at the end of each session. Many extended health insurance plans cover services provided by a Registered Social Worker (RSW). I’ll provide a detailed receipt that you can submit for reimbursement.

Yes — research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions. Many clients appreciate the flexibility, comfort, and privacy it offers, especially when discussing sensitive or emotional topics.

That’s completely okay — and very common. We’ll start by building safety and trust. You’ll never be pushed to share anything before you’re ready. Healing begins with gentle awareness and small steps toward understanding what happened, not reliving it.

I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling so the time can be offered to another client. Sessions cancelled with less notice may be subject to the full session fee.

Yes. Everything you share is kept strictly confidential and protected by Ontario privacy laws. The only exceptions are if there’s risk of harm to yourself or others, or if required by law (e.g., child protection concerns).

That’s completely normal — starting therapy takes courage. You don’t need to prepare or show up a certain way; just come as you are. My role is to meet you where you are with compassion, curiosity, and care.

Yes. As an Indo-Caribbean-Canadian therapist, I offer a culturally informed space where your identity, background, and experiences are deeply respected. Together, we’ll explore how culture, family, and intergenerational patterns shape your story — without judgment.

That’s okay — finding the right therapist makes a big difference. My approach is collaborative, relational, and trauma-informed. You’ll always have a voice in what we explore, and we’ll adjust the process to meet your unique needs and pace.
